Cathedral Service

A strong representation of members from Elmley Castle Lodge together with family and friends were amongst those who packed Worcester Cathedral on Sunday for the Annual Craft Service.

A colourful gathering widely supported throughout the province.

Traditionally Evesham Masons have sought a Strawberry tea to follow the service. For many years joining others at the Raven Hotel in Droitwich to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience of the large dining rooms with background music from a grand piano whilst being served a splendid tea.

This latter visit rounded off a superb afternoon midway through the summer recess of most of the Evesham Lodges and became one of the most sought after seats at any summer event.

When the Raven Hotel closed we began a search for a suitable venue to reproduce that special atmosphere.

Pleasing therefore to be able to say that whilst the Masonic Centre at Rainbow Hill will never replace the grandeur of the Raven Hotel, the strawberry tea provided on Sunday was splendid .

Congratulations to the Ladies Social committee for a most successful event. A Ladies touch at the tables together with the decorations made the room most attractive and welcoming.  And a big thank-you to Bro Paul Emmerson for making it possible for us to attend.
