14093001_016W Bro John Icke a very active and energetic mason and member of our lodge has been appointed a Grand Steward in the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons.

John was initiated in Elmley Castle Lodge in 1986 and became Master during the lodges 50th year in 1996. A year packed with special events the most notable being a presentation at Evesham of the Prestonian Lecture and a visit by W Bro John Hamill, curator of the Masonic Museum at Masons Hall, Great Queen Street, London.

John became our Director of Ceremonies and Preceptor in 2000 and held that position until 2008.

John was a very active member of Group II, WAML, and organised The asparagus Supper for many years which raised many thousands of pounds for local charity. John currently holds the rank of PPrJGW.

Advanced into the Mark Degree during 1990 in St Egwin Lodge in Evesham, John became Master of the Lodge in 2000 , again demonstrating the same energy and drive he brought to his craft masonry he became DC of the Mark Lodge.  First appointed to an active Mark Provincial Grand Rank in 2002 he had a number of promotions in addition to being appointed Provincial Information Officer , Web Master and then Assistant Provincial Grand Secretary before being appointed Provincial Grand Junior Warden in 2011.

John joined the United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta during 1995 becoming Eminent Preceptor in 2004. When the post of Marshal became vacant John was approached and accepted the office of Marshal which he still holds. John is currently Provincial First Constable.

We congratulate him on his preferment and wish him good health to enjoy the duties of his office in the Mark Grand Lodge together with his membership of the very prestigious Grand Stewards Lodge.
